Bio

Originally from England, Lisa Ridgers has spent decades living and creating between Europe and the United States. Over more than 25 years of painting professionally, her work has moved through multiple forms of abstraction, all grounded in presence, resilience, and the quiet passing of time.

Her paintings have reached audiences internationally through long-standing gallery representation, and are held in private and corporate collections across the world. Her career includes hospitality commissions and large-scale original works exploring the dialogue between surface, silence, and endurance.

From her studio in Ohio, Ridgers is now developing her Quiet Journeys series, a shift toward restraint, reduction, and the layered imprint of lived experience. Each painting emerges slowly through veils of muted color, soft gestures, and intentional pauses, offering a contemplative counterpoint to the speed and noise of contemporary life.

Her practice now centers on Quiet Journeys, soft and contemplative paintings rooted in presence and subtle movement, along with her Quiet Studio Films, a growing collection of slow, atmospheric painting experiences.

Guided by an enduring interest in calm, clarity, and the emotional resonance of minimal forms, Ridgers’ practice focuses on creating spacious, unhurried paintings that invite stillness and depth of looking.
